It is late and I really should consider going to sleep but the urge to write is strong. Maybe just a quick thought or two or three. I left off abruptly the other day to run for my airplane ride home. Good thing I did as they were nearly finished boarding. (Travel tip number one when flying is sit near your gate, don't listen to music with headphones on or get super involved with a project on the internet!)
So I made my flight from NYC to Buffalo by the slimmest margin! And amazingly enough, the flight took off on time. While driving home from the airport that night, I found 3 more great license plates (all of them located in my immediate neighborhood!) to add to my collection. I have driven past these vehicles many times, even noticed the plates before, but forgot about them when I started my plate collection until the other night. Seeing these plates reminded me how we take things for granted and/or tend to not be very observant when in familiar territory! Since I travel extensively, I am often in unfamiliar territory. I make a conscious effort to pay attention to my surroundings and to notice details where ever I am. Collecting plates has heightened my awareness noticeably.
It was too late to stop and take photos of the cars in the driveways but I'm sure I'll get a chance to snag the shots soon. I can't wait to post them here! (oh, plus I found a good plate on a car at the local grocery store.)
Moral of the story is that there are great plates everywhere, maybe even right under our noses! Come to think of it, I should check out the plates of family members. I can't even begin to say what their plate numbers are. So much for being observant!
Gotta go upload some cool plates. Stay posted & fly safe.
