This is great! I have been thinking about writing my own blog for more than a year now. I even visited a couple of blog sites but never actually set one up. I wasn't sure where to begin.
Now, I can combine my desire to write with my latest hobby! But I am jumping ahead a bit. I have always been interested in writing. And I have always been a collector. Some of the things I have collected over the years are: rocks, stuffed animals, books by Agatha Christie, stamps, wheat-back pennies, bicentennial quarters, foreign money, Christmas ornaments, horse statues, horse books, small Chinese cloissone pieces, photographs, more books, and more! As I've gotten older, I have tried to become selective in starting new collections. A fact that my husband appreciates as he has seen our home fill up! When he sees me looking at something with the idea of adding to an existing collection or starting a new one, he gets just a little bit stressed! So I am very excited about my latest collection. This is something that will challenge me but will not take up any space at home! License Plates! Funny ones, pretty ones, ones from other countries, one from all 50 states etc...
Obviously I can't take the plates so I just take a picture of the ones I like and I have just started uploading them onto the internet so they don't even take up room on my camera!
Why would anyone collect license plates? Most people have at sometime in their lives ridden in a car, or walked past a parked car. Most cars have at least one license plate. Many of them are unremarkable yet each one is unique. (Kind of like snowflakes but easier to collect!) I have often looked at license plates while travelling, searching for what I would call an interesting plate. I like the challenge of deciphering tricky plates. It never occurred to me to photograph one until recently but with the advent of the camera phone, why not?! It makes it possible to share them with others. There are many other reasons that I am pleased with my newest hobby. But it is time for me to hop on an airplane & head west where I hope to add at least one more new state to my collection. Stay posted & fly safe.

When I logged on to the website to add to my blog, I noticed I had a reply listed under yesterday's posting. I would call that a passive notification. I did not get any active notification. Is such a thing possible?
